La Palabra Del Dia: "parir"
parir ( pah-reer' )
verb ( to give birth )
There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Tengo dos hijos y por eso puedo decir que me dolió tenerlos. El parto es un proceso natural pero doloroso y creo que es imposible dar a luz a un niño sin decir a menos algunas malas palabras.
I have two children and I therefore think I can say that it was painful to give birth ( to have them). Birth is a natural but painful process and I think i t might be impossible to to give birth to a baby without swearing at least a little bit.
Creo que "dar a luz" es una frase muy hermosa, muy poetica. Paco nos ha dicho que "parir" es más para animales, asi que puedo decir "El veterinario predijo que mi perro pariría dos cachorros, pero ¡de hecho ella parió ocho! "
I think that "give to light" is a beautiful phrase, very poetic. Paco has told us that "parir" is more for animals, so I can say "The vet predicted that my dog would give birth to two puppies, but in fact she had eight!"
I have heard of women who give birth onboard commercial flights. I believe they did not have to buy an extra ticket.
He oído de las mujeres que paren a bordo los vuelos comerciales. Creo que no tuvieron que comprar un billete suplementario.

Él se sorprendió cuando su perra parió a once cachorros.
Parir y Dar a luz son sinónimos
These two phrases have all to do with giving birth. Dar a luz is usually for human birth, Parir is mor for animals, but in a poetic way Parir can be used for giving birth to an idea.
