How to translate Southern Drawl
How would someone translate American Southern Drawl to Spanish (for all Spanish speaking countries).
Also, does anyone know of different translations of Tom Sawyer? I can only find one translation..

Sometimes it is difficult to find a word-by-word translation. I can´t say literally in Spanish "the American Southern Drawl". Probably I would say "el acento sureño" and then say the way they talk: "arrastrando las palabras, "elocución monótona y lenta", "pesado".
When you translate from Spanish to English can happens the same: "Los habitantes del sur de España sesean o cecean". In this sentence I can say "The people of the South of Spain speaks using the sound S instead the sound C and vice versa". This is in this way because there is no any word in English to say "sesear" or "cecear".
On the other hand, Tom Sawyer is a personal name. I never translate the names because it is useless. In any case I would say Tomas Aserrador.

I think it takes too long, the translator has by now gone to sleep.. But then, I'm prejudiced. I've only ever fallen asleep in front of films, I've never met a real person who speaks like this.
