What makes you feel angry?

Question

I need to know if there is any rule to this question What makes you feel sad or any other feeling...... can I answer with make or makes, the s is used only for he she or it, so it must be answered with make,

It's perfectly ok to use "hacer", matter of fact it's less formal sounding... You can even use the verb "dar", it's just another way of saying things.

me entristecieron - for me it’s too formal
me hicieron sentir triste - more common I think
me dio tristeza cuando vi eso - it made me sad when I saw that, just another way
El coche que me regalaste me hizo feliz.

Jack, check out "entristecer" I've always thought it meant "to sadden" from "triste" But you Irishmen sometimes know a few things that we latinos don't. Txustaboy's Me da pena is quite logical to me. - Daniela2041, Nov 15, 2014

From my days in Puerto Rico I remember their word for "anger" it's "coraje"

Soooo, ¿Qué es lo que te de da coraje? ( the only word I would doubt among those that have been offered above is "entristecer" I use that to mean to "sadden".

A shorter version of the puertorriqueñismo is ¿Qué te da coraje?

In Andalucia (Spain) we used to say that expression: Me da coraje que comas con la boca abierta. But not in the rest of Spain :) - txustaboy, Nov 15, 2014

Hacer is the equivalent of "create." "Make" would not work in this case.

Entristecer is a better verb for this case. It means "to sadden."

You would ask, "¿Qué te entristeces?"

If you want to say, "What makes you angry," you would say, "¿Qué te enojas?"

EDIT: Now that I think about it, an outside factor is usually the cause of sadness or anger. I think we need to stick an " es lo que" in there.

¿Qué es lo que te entristeces? -- "What is the thing that saddens you?"

¿Qué es lo que te enojas? -- "What is the thing that angers you?"
