Es la palabra enamorado un sustantivo o adjetivo?

I just heard a Mexican song in a restaurant in which the singer kept saying "enamorada" and it means "beloved". - Jubilado, Nov 12, 2014

In my experience, it is hard to think of an adjective that cannot be used as a noun in Spanish, as in essence to say the (adjective) ones you simply put the article in front of the adjective:

Los altos= the tall ones

Los flacos= the skinny ones

Los feos= the ugly ones

Los ricos= the rich ones

Los enamorados= the ones in love

I am sure someone will take this as a challenge to find an exception. But that would be an exception to something that generally works

Un enamorado (una enamorada, fem.) means a person in love. Therefore a noun. Estoy enamorada de ti. means I am in love with you (I am enamoured of you--fancy English) but therefore an adjective. Capish???
