Someone said he would speak Spanish to God, Italian to women, French to men....although I'm not sure which specific feature of the Spanish language he was thinking of when he said that.

Spanish is a language like any other. It's spoken by millions of people world wide, and those who speak it are distinguished as Spanish speakers (hispanohablantes). There is nothing special about it that could not be said of other languages. Each country has its own way of speaking, but that is true of all languages that are wide spread.

So there really is no specific answer to your question. Perhaps you are thinking of a way to categorize the language. Linguistically it is a Romantic (coming from the Roman tongue - Latin) language also would be considered Indo-European.

PS I've never experienced it as aromatic.
