Wow! That's quite surprising, given that Mexico isn't nearly as financially stable as some other countries (that probably says something about the moral futility of money....)
Perhaps this study shows that Mexicans are simply the biggest exaggerators? 
It would mean that they (finally) passed up us Americans.
I do wonder... what do you think makes a happy culture? Is it economic prosperity? Religious freedom? Heavily armed police? What do you think?
It is very strange that Denmark and Australia, the two countries that are considered the most happy in other studies, are not even mentioned.

Well, I'm just happy to hear that! 
Frankly, I'm not quite surprised with this result, because I knew that some previous studies had come with similar results, putting Mexico among the happiest countries.
I really don't know why Mexicans are so happy in general.
But I am surprised as well that people in some countries such as England or Germany are relatively unsatisfied, when those countries are some of the wealthiest countries.
Somehow these results imply that wealth and happiness aren’t directly linked to each other.
I once heard that, although having money is very important to be happy, after you have reached a certain life standard, an increase in your personal wealth doesn’t turn immediately in an increase of your happiness.
I personally think that happiness certainly can't be measured in ecomomic terms alone since some of the poorest people, in the world, particularly the children often seem to be smiling whereas many of the richest people in the world look the most miserable ...so what does that say about the contribution that material prosperity makes to people's lives?! The world-famous pop band 'The Beatles' sung a song: "Money can't buy me love" ..I think they had a point ..and made it very well, don't you?
I also think that happiness does not come by seeking for it for your own life, if you do that it will probably elude you, but it comes through trying to help people and improve the lives of others!
The happiest people are truly those who recognise that happiness is not to be found in owning lots of material possessions or seeking to improve your own social status in the eyes of others but instead it is found in relationships and valuing people above money, profits and material prosperity and finding contentment in what you have and not endlessly striving to be rich! The world of advertising likes to try to tell us that:
'You are what you wear'; 'you are what you eat' or 'you are what you own' but we must be careful not to allow these shallow ideals to define us...human beings are created for a better and higher destiny than this!
