Cual es la diferencia entre dejar de y parar de ? Son similares a decir to cease, no? Podéis darme algunas frases con esos verbos? Gracias!

To me both mean the same, might not be the same in Spain, I don't know.

edit: mainly for annie:

It is the same in English, right?

To cease = to stop.

When used with another verb, yes they are essentially the same. You can stop people and things physically but you can't cease them :-). - Jubilado, Nov 3, 2014
Of course, especially people that would become deceased... :^) - chileno, Nov 3, 2014

I'm not a native but I would say, that at least in Spain, dejar is an everyday phrase:

Dejar de fumar , dejar de roncar ( to stop smoking , to stop snoring..)

Parar is used with stops on journeys, and to be out of work ( estar en el paro o parado) .

Please wait for more answers.

I agree with chileno. Both mean the same and both are used, but "dejar de" seems to be more common.
