Help with this phrase please? Ayudamente?

Question

If anyone could translate this phrase for me as part of prep for coursework it would help alot, I am struggling with it;

I think that the town council should clean up the city and make it a nicer place to live.

So far I have;

Pienso que la auyudamente.....

Ayudamente is not a word I am familiar with. Nor is the RAE

Ayuntamiento might be what you want.

I think that the town council should clean up the city and make it a nicer place to live.

This is how I would do it.

Creo que el ayuntamiento debería (limpiar/arreglar) la ciudad y hacerla que sea un lugar más agradable (para vivir)

Choose limpiar vs. arreglar based on what you mean by clean up- arreglar might be better.

I am an intermediate level learner, wait for other comments first.

For clarity, I would use an indirect object pronoun: "hacerla que sea". The rest is great - 005faa61, Oct 22, 2014

but Bosque with 'hacerla' it should be 'y hacerla un lugar más agradable' - 003e54f5, Oct 22, 2014
