pendayho meaning

I don't know how to spell the word but it sounds like "pendayho". I hear it used a lot when addressing someone like a term of endearment.

In Mexico, pendejo means fool

it is NOT a term of endearment

except when its used ironically

I believe you're thinking of "pendejo", which is not the nicest word to call someone, but I've definitely lovingly called my special someone mean names teasingly (ex: "I love you, you moron"), so who knows! Maybe it really was used as a term of endearment! But this is NOT something to call the cute guy/girl you meet at the bar.

Only someone who in fact is "pendejo" would try to use this word as a term of endearment - 005faa61, Oct 20, 2014

Substitute '-ahyo' with '-ejo' and it could be the Spanish word for a term sometimes used in English to describe a person you don't like by comparing them with the part of the body that you use for sitting on (or slightly worse)...

Dios mío ; there are so many of these "so called" palabrotas, at least in mexican Spanish.

I certainly would not be going around using this one without a good solid understanding of it.

Its meaning can be as light as " bonehead" or when used in the wrong place will surely start a fight.

This word as many other such in Mexican Spanish can mean pretty much what you want them to mean, and can be humorous among friends or can be very very offensive.

Watch you words learners !!

Paco is right. Say this to the wrong person and you will find yourself in a fight. Even saying this jokingly to a friend at the wrong time can result in womething un pleasant. - gringojrf, Oct 24, 2014
