Saber o conocer help

These are driving me crazy, I can't figure out why these two are incorrect.

Info to take with you.. Every time you see the "personal a" (the sentence is referring to a person), always use conocer. When talking about a specific place or thing, especially if it's proper or formal, use conocer. For everything else, use saber.

Saber is to know information. Conocer is to be acquainted with someone/something/some place.

Clearly 5 is conocer- they know the owner of the restaurant. It would be saber if you knew the owner's name, or who the owner is, but to actually know the owner is going to be conocer.

On 1- it is saber because you think you know what kind of food they have there- that is information. The type of food they have. It's not that you are familiar with the restaurant.

Nice try but I still got it wrong and I'm screwed because I cannot redo it now. : ( - Myspanishisbad, Oct 18, 2014
Spanish can be a pain. But Thanks anyways. - Myspanishisbad, Oct 18, 2014
I guess it should have occurred to me that you wouldn't conjugate correctly- the first would be sabes; the second/fifth would be conocen. :( - bosquederoble, Oct 18, 2014
At least if I am correct in that. - bosquederoble, Oct 18, 2014
Thank you for helping out, Bosque. - rac1, Oct 19, 2014
