Todo esto es informal
En Mexico: 'ir/salir a pistear' es ir a tomar alcohol con amigos y se dice así por los 'pistos' (bebidas alcohólicas)
En algunos países: puede significar ir/salir a bailar y se dice así por la 'pista de baile' :p
En Argentina: 'pistear' es hacer una 'carrera de autos' (coche/carro) pero también cuando alguien 'maneja rápido ('salimos a pistear' ' estaba pisteando') por las calles' y se dice así por la 'pista de carrera'

Not everyone wants to speak Mexican Spanish, although most from the US do, some want Costa Rican, some Puerto Rican, and some other differing places (I think I even saw someone who wanted Uruguayan). I think most Europeans want the Spanish of Spain. ;) - bosquederoble, Oct 17, 2014
