How would I say -Drop the o

Question

How would I tell my students "Drop the o from the yo form and add..."

Would I use Deja caer la letra o del forma yo y usa.....

I am trying to explain the formation of commands but I would like to try it in Spanish.

If I were talking to just one student, I'd say:

"Quita la o de la primera persona del singular y añade/pon..."

"Cambia/Sustituye la o de la primera persona del singular por..."

To several students:

"Quitad/Quiten - Añadid/Añadan - Poned/Pongan - Cambiad/Cambien - Sustituid/Sustituyan"
