Pila can mean a lot of different things depending on the context .. it can mean a battery (like a phone battery or the batteries we use in the TV remotes etc.), it can also mean a pile or a heap of something and then it can also mean a sink ..

So in this sentence it means " the baby bathes (himself) in the sink... but it may be some special type of sink meant for bathing babies or little pets (which I don't know) .. That you can ask JP in the post above hehe ..

You can look at this link to see the different meanings of the word : http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/la pila

I'm reckoning that pila means cell whereas baterĂa means battery (as in a battery of cells). - afowen, Oct 7, 2014

Probably the sink. It is more like a wash basin. Let me see If I can find a picture of one.

What kind of sink is this JP .. is it meant for bathing kids ,, I wish I had one too to bathe my leo in it .. but he probably won't fit in .. hehe - Joydeep_Singh, Oct 5, 2014
Well, it is meant/ designed to wash dishes; however, common to give a small child a bath.- depends on the parents. - jphip, Oct 5, 2014
I used to give my son sink baths when he was and infant. Easier on the back! Haha! - jphip, Oct 5, 2014
haha ..a little risky though, might end up using the dish wash detergent instead of the baby shampoo on the kid accidentally .. imagine.. haha - Joydeep_Singh, Oct 5, 2014
I might ** - Joydeep_Singh, Oct 5, 2014
I hope not! : ) That is a typical "the mom walks in on the dad doing something stupid" scenario. : ) - jphip, Oct 5, 2014

Hmmm? Good question! I am going to look for it in the dictionary now. - jphip, Oct 5, 2014
That may be because you may be using a beginners/elementary dictionary which may just have the main meaning .. which the word is mostly used for .. which is a battery... it is there on our SD online dictionary .. please follow the link i gave you:) - Joydeep_Singh, Oct 5, 2014
