To get something back

To get something back

Hi folks!

What would be the best way to say: "Can I get my laptop back?" or "my memory stick back". I.e.: I've lent something to someone and I want to get it back. Could I use the verb "coger"?

I.e: Cuando puedo coger mi laptop?

Thanks!!

Personally, I probably would have chosen recuperar. ¿Cuándo puedo recuperar mi laptop? But I am not completely sure. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 30, 2014
I would say ¿Me puedes devolver la laptop? and politely '¿Me podrías devolver la laptop? and ¿Cuándo me podrías devolver la laptop? (When can I get my laptop back?) ' - 003e54f5, Sep 30, 2014
Yes, I was going to say devolver, but I was trying to stick with his get back, rather than switch the subject and use give back. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 30, 2014
yep me too but there is no other way - 003e54f5, Sep 30, 2014
That's why I didn't officially answer. I just would never say it that way. - bosquederoble, Sep 30, 2014

Gracias a todos por las respuestas!

Sería correcto decir "Puedo tomar mi laptop?"

recuperar transitive verb 1. to recover (lo perdido, la salud); to reclaim (espacios naturales); to make up (horas de trabajo); to regain (conocimiento); to resit (examen)

Quiero recuperar mi computadora.
