Hello Lekhulgeng,.

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum. smile

You asked:

How do I say "what is your name" in spanish?

The most common way is to say:

¿Cómo se llama Ud?

(The Spanish natives use this polite form when speaking to strangers, older people, people in authority such as teachers, police officers, judges, officials, and anyone else to whom you wish to show special respect!)

or

¿Cómo te llamas?

(The Spanish natives use this familiar form when talking to friends, family, children and young people. People you know well! wink )

This is the most common way that Spanish natives ask this questtion in Spain, and I think, this also includes most parts of South America although some countries may use the more formal:expression: ¿Cuál es su (tu) nombre?

Sometimes, you may see the more formal question used on forms / documents ¿Cuál es su nombre? = What is your name?

Please complete (fill in ) your profile! We need to know 1 What is your level of ability in English and Spanish? 2. Where are you living? ie: the name of country eg Sweden or your country of birth. Knowing this helps us to better understand how to help you so we can answer your questions! wink

I hope this helps smile
