El Peinado vs "El corte de pelos"

Hola Amigos,

Quiero a pregunarles que cual es la diferencia entre la palabra "El Peinado" y la expresión "el corte de pelos" .. Ambos significan lo mismo o hay alguna diferenia entre los significados de las respectivas maneras para referirselo.

I wish to ask you all that what is the difference between the word "El Peinado" and the expression " el corte de pelos". Do both mean the same or is there some difference between the two ..

Yes Bosque, that's exactly what I think because the translation for Peinado is a "hairdo" whereas as el corte means a hair cut .. so I think the same as you but not sure either .. haha - 00b055e0, Sep 28, 2014

I agree with Bosque and Pablo, but it sounds funny to say "corte de pelos" in plural. This focuses on each individual hair on your head, so we say in singular: corte de pelo.

Sometimes women make jokes about going to the beauty salon and they will say: Me voy al salón de los pelos. This of course is not correct, but it sounds so funny that it´s great to hear.

Here in Andalucia the verb ' pelar' is used for haircuts, it sounds a bit alarming, like peeling an orange.However, the result was good and the price reasonable.
