Andale - Ayuda con vocabulario
Hola a todos, por favor excusen mi español. Pero yo me gustaría saber el significado para la palabra "andale". Por supuesto ya se que significa "hurry" en inglés pero por que en esa forma?
Andar = to walk le = him/her

¡Ándate...! means something different BTW.

This is an exaggeration of the meaning of course! : )
Most people would tell you that you can't literally translate it by its components, and that it is a an expression that has come to mean what it means regardless of its origins. And of course with time it has broadened its usage.
But really if you look at it, it is not much of a leap.
Andar means move, go, even leave in some contexts.
Le as an indirect object can mean it- indirect objects in English are often signaled with a preposition- to him, for him, etc.
So get a move on it (how much sense does this make word for word?), go for it, go with it all are bit similar. And are pretty close to some of the things ándale means.
just my opnion.
¡Ándale! has several meanings. You can use it as "Come on!", "Hurry up!" to name a few.
You'll hear "ándale pues" as well.
¡Ándele! also.
