Hi Maglet. Please use a capital to begin your sentence. - rac1, Sep 21, 2014

You can use either la sacerdote, la mujer sacerdote or la sacerdotisa to my understanding.

http://www.fundeu.es/consulta/sacerdotisa-o-la-sacerdote-873/

Acabo de ver que se acepta obispo y obispa, y que se señala que sacerdote sirve para los dos géneros. Entonces, ¿es o no es correcto el uso de la palabra sacerdotisa?

For some reason I cannot copy the answer but basically it says:

Sacerdote preferred for Christian female priests.

Sacerdotisa for ancient religions and non Christian religions- priestesses.

Hi Maglet!! at least in Catholic countries (Latin America and Spain) there are no 'women priests' so I did not know any expression to differentiate gender and I am surprised by the Bosque's response because just now I find out that it is possible to say 'la mujer sacerdote or la sacerdotisa' :D

Why Can't Women Be Priests in the Catholic Church?
