Per a la Llibertat !!

I know it's not Spanish, but as a Scot who feels gutted at today's disappointing vote, I just want to let any Catalan brethren of mine know I'm thinking of you in the approach to your election... Per a la Llibertat !!

The independence vote did not get a majority but the repercussions of the referendum are only just beginning.

I want a federation of the four soveregn UK countries.

Our democracy is not fit for purpose.

It was a very close margin, though (IIRC, 45% to 55%). When 45% of a country's population wants to be independent, you can tell that changes will definitely be on their way.

Plus, there will be another vote on this issue sometime in the next coupleteen years (if the newspapers haven't misled me), so it ain't over once and for all. I might be wrong, of course.

Right amigo. It was really a vote against our (the UK's) political setup. - ian-hill, Sep 20, 2014

There was a Yes / No vote in Scotland becoming an independent nation on 18 September. The majority voted to stay in the United Kingdom (No on the ballot). Our friend here Falda-Escocesa apparently wanted an independent Scotland. - Jubilado, Sep 20, 2014
Apparently Catalonia wants independent nation status as well from Spain and are going to vote on that soon. - Jubilado, Sep 20, 2014
By the way, why are you not using capital letters in your posts? - Jubilado, Sep 20, 2014
La diferencia es que Cataluña no tiene la historia de Escocia, la independencia de Cataluña es mas por capricho de unos políticos que solo buscan enriquecerse que por historia. - Neox, Sep 20, 2014
Rey...Remember to use proper caps and punctuation. - rac1, Sep 20, 2014
