"To check in" in the context of checking up or checking in to see how things are going. It´s something I´ve wondered about for a while but have yet to find a satisfactory answer.

I would say for:

Checking up on something(revising) - Revisar

...and then in mexico we use "checar"

"Voy a checar y a ver como va todo." --- "I'm going to check in and see how things are going."

Of course how could I not have put Checar. This is the most common in Mexico - gringojrf, Aug 27, 2014
it's funny how that seems to be used only in Mexico, everywhere else it's chequear :) - Kiwi-Girl, Aug 27, 2014

Depending on context how about 'darle una miradita' or 'estar pendiente'?

I can't make the link work- I think it has to do with a percentage sign. - bosquederoble, Aug 26, 2014
Muchas gracias por la respuesta. This is one of those phrases that I seem to always forget to ask about but it pops up frequently enough that it can be frustrating not having a way to explain it haha - jjharner, Aug 26, 2014
I suspect if you combine them you get the in on- ponerse en contacto para hacer averiguaciones. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 26, 2014
