Ud form? spanish help

Question

How would I say " How old are you" in Spanish to a teenager. And How would I say "How are you" in Spanish in Ud. form.

Teenagers deserve respect no?

¿Cuántos años tienes? ( How old are you?)

• Formal (strange/old/etc people): ¿Usted cuántos años tiene?
• Informal(friends, closest family, teenagers ): ¿Cuántos años tienes?

¿Como estás? (How are you?)

• Formal: ¿Usted cómo está?
• Informal: ¿Cómo estás?

I have taken the liberty of editing his answer to how I would respond if you are speaking to someone from an area that uses tú.

Cuántos años tienes? ( How old are you?)

¿Cómo estás? (How are you?)

• Formal: ¿Usted cómo está?

• Informal: ¿Cómo estás?

I am surprised that Pablo has not pointed out that by not including vos conjugations in our conjugation feature that the site is not supporting us in learning a form used by a significant number of Spanish speakers.

No reason to be sorry. Your version of Spanish is as equally valid as the version that most English speakers generally learn- and there are people who specifically want to learn it. I only added this so both versions would be available. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 7, 2014

I like your corrections- Rioplatense might be the only major influence that I don't have on my Spanish. I think if the Spaniards can use vosotros, you can use vos. Just tell people that that is what you did. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 7, 2014
