There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

There are only four teams remaining in this all-time great 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.
To no one's surprise, the four national teams left are Brazil, Germany, Argentina and the Netherlands. All 19 previous World Cup Finals have been played and won by a South American or European nation. Never has another continent even made it to the finals, and with the elimination of Costa Rica, that isn't changing this year.
What could make this World Cup semifinals an all-time great one is that in both of these games, we get a rematch of a previous World Cup Finals. Tensions will be running higher than ever for fans, coaches and opposing teams. These four countries remaining have won a combined 10 World Cup championships and have appeared in a combined 21 Finals games.
Collectively, Europe has won 10 World Cups, while South America has won 9. It doesn't get any better than this.
