Que haces?? Qué haciendo ??

may I know the translation of 'what are you doing'? Which one is correct?why? Que haces? Que haciendo? Thank you

You can say either '¿qué haces? or ¿qué estás haciendo?. They both mean 'what are you doing?' but the second one can only refer to what the person is doing right now. The first option can also refer to a habitual actions (ie. what do you do ..?)

Eg. You could say either - ¿qué haces hoy? or ¿qué estás haciendo hoy? to mean 'what are you doing today?

But if you want to talk about what someone does habitually you would need to use the present tense (first option) instead of the present progressive tense (the second option).

¿Qué haces los miercoles? = What do you do on Wednesdays?
