Respond to "buenos dias" with a full sentence

Hi gang. Instead of just saying "buenos dias" in return, when im greeted with it, I would like to respond with a sentence. To say "I hope that you have a good day also", would it be "Espero que tengas un dia buena tambien"? Thanks..

We normally just say: Que tengas buen día, but this is said as a farewell and not a greeting.

Down here in southern Spain noting more than a smile and a ' hola' is required. If you want to say something more, make a comment on the weather: Que buen tiempo hace// hace calor// que día tan fresquto....

Wholly smackers...there you are! Where have you been hiding? It has not been the same here without you! I hope all is well. - 007c5fc1, Jun 30, 2014
Well said, Annie. But I think you meant "fresquito." - Raja-jani, Jun 30, 2014
