Arabica is regarded as the best but more often than not it is blended . Chicory is a coffee substitute. - ray76, Jun 27, 2014
Well, whatever it is, I don't like it. - rac1, Jun 27, 2014
There only 2 types of coffee bean - Arabica and Robusta - the latter is the cheaper one , normally used in instant coffee. - ian-hill, Jun 27, 2014
Thanks Ian, I didn't know that. I just know what tastes good. There are actually many that I like. I do love my coffee. :) - rac1, Jun 27, 2014
Ian is correct, but after the types comes the areas and countries etc , not forgetting the strange ones - ray76, Jun 28, 2014
I like Hawaiian coffee or Jamaican or Costa Rican...the volcanic soil makes a huge difference in the taste. - 007c5fc1, Jun 29, 2014
Jamaican Blue Mountain is the best in the world. - ian-hill, Jun 29, 2014
Thanks for the tip, Margherite and Ian. I will try those. :) - rac1, Jun 29, 2014

I think the most popular is Starbucks, because the line is always very long.

It is not so popular here where we are more interested in good coffee . - ray76, Jun 27, 2014
Vastly over rated in my opinion too Ray - and expensive and loaded with sugar. - ian-hill, Jun 27, 2014
Many Brits stopped using it when it and other multinationals were shown to minimise their tax - Mardle, Jun 27, 2014
Yep minimise it down to zero :) - ian-hill, Jun 27, 2014
But on the "plus" side, it seems to cost about $10 per cup.... - vevans, Jun 27, 2014

I like Peet's Major Dickason's Blend. It's rich and bold enough to stand up to a lot of cream.

Me gusta Peet's Major Dickason's Blend.

(Did the best I could with the Spanish. Please help where help is need. :>))

Can I find this in a grocery store, or would I need to look elsewhere? - rac1, Jun 27, 2014
It's in the grocery where I live, which doesn't carry much worth buying. That makes me think it's stocked in a lot of stores. - AnnRon, Jun 27, 2014
Thanks Ann. I'm always trying a different coffee. I really love it. :) - rac1, Jun 27, 2014
His coffee looks good , but he is a bad speller like me. - ray76, Jun 28, 2014

Worlds most expensive coffee.

--

The costliest coffee on earth has a humble proletarian beginning. As folklore has it, civet coffee, or kopi luwak in Indonesian, was discovered by plantation workers in colonized Indonesia. Forbidden from consuming coffee beans picked from the plants, they picked up, cleaned and then roasted the beans excreted by wild Asian palm civets that entered the plantations to eat the ripest coffee cherries. The civets’ digestive systems gave kopi luwak a uniquely rich aroma and smooth, rounded flavor — so much so that the Dutch plantation owners soon became die-hard fans.

I'm partial to the taste of Nescafé myself, but I can't speak for everyone. I'm pretty sure Folgers is the top brand here in the U.S.

I like my own very strong coffee, brewed in the French press.

I make my own creamer: 1/3 sweetened condensed milk; 1/3 evaporated milk; 1/3 soy milk.

Me three - rac1, Jun 29, 2014
I put the three milks into a quart bottle and give it a good shake. It's kinda thick-ish, so it's great for strong coffee and you need less. Also, you don't get the palm oil & other crud that they add to commercial coffee creamers. - Findy, Jun 29, 2014
AND, you can add natural vanilla or other flavorings if you like. :) - Findy, Jun 29, 2014
I'm going to defintaly try that creamer...sounds yummy. - 007c5fc1, Jun 29, 2014

I will add Spanish later! I like tea but freshly brewed coffee at an independent chain is good too. Flat white was introduced to London by the Australians and New Zealanders. When I drink coffee I like Colombian and at home add cold milk though I have friends who like warm milk. I do have an expresso machine in which I use Lavazza but I do not use it much.. If I am not having a meal I ask for a filter coffee! However, at my favourite Spanish restaurant where they blend their own coffee, I have cortado.
