While watching the World Cup I noticed that the announcer uses the word "habilitado" to say that an offensive player is "open" to receive a pass. It's not a translation found in the dictionary. really not a question, just an observation to share...Still watching the game and paying attention to new words

You are right, Ron. It is very common to use this word "habilitado" the participle of the verb: "habilitar", or this verb conjugated.
El defensa habilitó al delantero.

In this case it means "to enable", not really "open to receive"
