Al vs El When should they be used?
If you are saying "The girls like tennis", which one would be correct?
A las muchachas les gusta jugar el tenis.
OR
A las muchachas les gusta jugar al tenis.
Could someone please explain to me when and where I should use al and el?

You should always use jugar a when it is followed by the name of the sport. So you never would say jugar el tenis. I just reread the attached discussion and apparently some natives speakers say "juego (juegas, juega, jugamos, juegan, etc.) tenis but notice without "al".

You can say too También puedes decir: A las muchachas les gusta jugar a el tenis.
"A el" is unnecessary. is better say "al". "A" el es innecesario, es mejor decir "al"

PD: Me trabé diciendo que "a el" era innecesario por que no lo estaba leyendo, si no que me dí cuenta en el instante. I struck up saying that "A el" was unnecessary because it was not reading, if you did not realize at the time.
