Casual Spanish phrases?
I'm going to Madrid in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone can tell me some conversational or casual phrases or slang that I can use?

Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy your trip. There are native speakers who are members of this forum from Spain who will be able to help you. However, it is not clear how or where you want to use the phrases. As you haven't completed your profile we don't know if you are a complete beginner in Spanish or know a lot from the classroom and want to sound less stilted. I am a huge fan of Notes in Spanish - they do not add much to their site these days but it is excellent. There are free audios from complete novice to advanced [Gold] even the first ones include colloquial phrases. If I was going to Madrid I would like to see the Sorolla museum - they have an audio about it in the Gold season.
I have been to Spain ( stayed there for two months as a Science teacher) and I will tell you that conversational Spanish is not that helpful, unless you want to say "hello, how are you? Where is the bathroom?" then walk away. When I went it was 7 years ago and my Spanish was on a conversational level, but I just "winged it". I was relaxed with the crowd ( the nation came off as super friendly to me) and used what Spanish I could then used my English the rest of the time. You will find that many people speak English there and there are tourists galore to help you....AND....their accent is clearer and dialect a little slower so if you are truly interested in picking up some Spanish, just listen in and you will learn a lot! I did anyway. I stayed in Avila ( go there!!) and went to Madrid and Salamanca. Best trip of my Life. But if you insist on finding some phrases, I understand....I do....here are some:
Claro que si! : Absolutely! Donde esta.....: Where is...... Que tal? or Que pasa? : What's up? Como estas : How are you? Hasta luego: Until then! or See you later! Nos Vemos!: We'll see you! Disculpame....: Excuse me.... Gracias por la ayuda: Thanks for the help Cuanto cuesta?: How much does it cost? Para que? : for what? por que? : why? porque/ por eso: because estoy bien: I'm fine puedes ayudarme? : can you help me?
Also, I realized that a "tortilla" in Spain is an egg and potato sandwhich- AMAZING! Try it!!!

I agree. And their site is 100% focused on Spanish from Spain, so it's a really good idea for you to poke around there.
Phrasebooks for your phone can be can be good for that sort of thing.
