Hello Jeanette,
Welcome to the SpanishDict forum ![]()
You wrote:
Let me have your driver's licence and ID
It would really be appreciated if you would write out your question in a proper manner in future...in either English or Spanish. ![]()
For example: How do you say: Let me have your driver's licence and ID?
Please, help me to understand you clearly here, Jeanette, are you talking about:
1 the context of surrendering your licence to a Spanish police officer or person in authority who is authorised to look at it or confiscate it or .......
2 simply allowing somone to look at it and check it and return it to you soon after, eg: Spanish hotel staff, when they ask for your passport when they check in" new guests/arrivals? Common practice in Spain.
I would say (Please) Hand over (or surrender) your driver's licence and ID
= Entregue su carnet (o permiso ) de conducir, y su carnet de Identidad (por favor)
The verb is entregar which mean: to hand over /surrender The form here is the imperative or command form commonly used by Spanish speaking peple
An official such as police officer may or may not say por favor so I have put the Spanish equivalent of please in brackets. They are probably more likely to say por favor in a hotel or embassy but less likely on the streets but I could be mistaken. It really depends on the individual official
I hope this helps ![]()
