"As" the world turns

Question

I am most likely over thinking this but, in Spanish "como" is "as" "mientras" is "while".

when I am constructing a phrase like "As the world turns..." or "As the season ends..." or "As I wait for the bus..." "As I grow in understanding..."

Is "como" used? because "mientras" seems to make more sense. When you put it into the translator it almost always gives me "como".

Suggestion.

Mientras el mundo se revuelve.

Cuando termina la temporada de lluvias..

En cuanto crece mi conocimiento ( not at all sure about this, cuando /mientras are probably better)

I would agree with your thoughts, my instinct would be mientras.

The only reference I can find is this, where a native Spanish speaker in LA uses “conforme”.
