Do you use yo with puedo?

In a broader sense, it usually is not necessary to use subject pronouns with conjugated verbs in Spanish. Normally, they are used to avoid confusion or to add emphasis.
Most of the time Spanish natives avoid using them in averyday conversations and writing, especially considering that most of the verb forms nake it very clear to whom the action refers:
eg: ¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?
= What do you (familiar form) like to do (doing) in your free time?
Fuimos al restaurante que se llama Fernandos anoche para tomar copas y platicar (hablar) con amigos.
= We went to the Restaurant called Fernandos last night to have some drinks and chat with our friends.
Noetal is correct in saying that personal pronouns such as yo, tú, él, etc... are only used by Spanish natives for emphasis or to clarify who is doing the action where it is not clear from the context:
When I can think of any examples I will add them
Yo que tú / si yo fuera tú = If I were you
