I use a very good online Spanish school that I can positively recommend from personal experience, called, :

SpanishSkype.org. You receive nearly an hour (55 mins) lesson/class for $18 which is very good value for money! I am sure that all their teachers are lovely. I have already posted a positive review of my teacher on their website.

Here is the link: enter link description here

I have also had experience of using Verbal Planet.com and have been in contact with another one based in Madrid called: La Aventura Española .They are very friendly, too. Verbal planet employs teachers who can teach various languages: Spanish, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. They mayalso teach other langauages, I am not sure of the extent of their skills lol

It is really a matter of personal preference (choice) and how much you can afford or are willing to pay; prices vary quite a lot , even between individual teachers,.especially on Verbal planet! The quality of the teaching is very good in each of these schools they could not survive if they didn't employ high calibre (quality) native teachers!

You need to ask yourself soem serious questions before starting lessons:

1.How much can I afford / or am I willing to pay for a lesson, and how often ?

Most schools will allow you to either pay for individual lessons or to block book several lessons at once, with the added advantage of a small discount for doing so.

2.Why do I want to learn Spanish...(or French or any other language) for work, holiday, business, to pass exams or simply for pleasure? Lessons can be designed especially for you (tailored to your individual needs)

3.Do I want to learn "Castellano"(The Spanish that originated from Castile in Spain) with a native teacher from Spain, or would I prefer to learn the Spanish spoken in South/Central America or one of the islands? I am not convinced of any arguments that there is necessarily any superiority of one against another.....it;'s just a matter of personal choice and pragamatism if you are going to live in Colombia or Peru it would probably be better to choose a teacher from those places (states) so you could learn their cultural ways before settling there to live.!

Another school Fluencia is also available through this site They have native teachers who I am sure are as good as any others out there I have not used their langauge services but you could also give them a try wink

I hope this helps smile
