Hacer (dar aspecto a)

Hola Todos!

So, I've been studying the Spanish verb "hacer". This verb has many meanings depending on the context of the sentence. However, I am having difficulty translating or understanding the meaning it is trying to convey in this sentence.

"Este espejo te hace gordo."

What does this mean? I know it has something to do with a dress and "fat"....it's still a bit confusing.

@ annierats: Agreed! @geeny22: add "ver" for it to make more sense in spanish: *Este espejo te hace ver gordo. - jphip, May 29, 2014
I makes sense without "ver" too, literaly "this mirror makes you fat" - Colin4312, May 30, 2014
