Se inventarán píldoras para mejorar la memoria.
o
Se inventará píldoras para mejorar la memoria.

1. Which one makes more sense? (Es una predicción que se ha hecho en el mundo del futuro.)

2. What does "se" do/mean in this sentence? Is it a pronomial verb?

'Píldora' is used almost exclusively for the contraceptive pill, which could lead to confusion. It may be better to say 'drogas' . I think it's a passive 'se'. Pills/drugs will be invented.

I think ' se inventarán' is the correct version, but I'm not sure.

I agree, it's totally correct, but, at a glance, one would think it refers to ' the pill' as we call it in England too. - annierats, May 27, 2014
I agree with Ging, pastilla o droga. - annierats, May 27, 2014

Se inventarán píldoras para mejorar la memoria.
o Se inventará píldoras para mejorar la memoria.

"Se" is a reflexive verb which in fact is a pronomial verb. The word "se" speaks on the subject and its place directly in front of the verb. "Inventán" means "Ellos""Ellas" or "Ustedes" "Inventará" means "El" "Ella" or "Usted"

Annie's suggestion is correct. I think your meaning refers more properly to medicine in a pill administered form which in English we shorten to "pill" but in Spanish is "drogas". My prefence (but as a non native speaker) would be:

Un día drogas para mejorar la memoria se inventarán.

Good idea but those with a bad memory would forget to take it! - GabriellaMonique, May 27, 2014
Yes, my mother has to have assistants call at her home 3 times a day to give her her pills. She gets very upset about it, as she thinks sheis capable.. - annierats, May 27, 2014
