¿Es "cargar" el sinónimo por (para) "llevar"?

Quiero usar "cargar" en una frase y quiero saber si "cargar" es un sinónimo para "llevar".

I want to use "cargar" - to carry etc in a sentence and want to know if "cargar" is a synonym for "llevar" - to carry etc.

I suppose it depends on the context. I want to use it in a sentence about carrying something. I have written a few sentences out and realized that perhaps the use of "llevar" would have been better. I am so unsure of this. Could anyone help me please.

to carry (acarrear) Llevaban en hombros al entrenador -> They were carrying the coach on their shoulders

Llevar: to take, to carry, to have

Cargar is used more for, "to load" like loading the video into a video player.

From the RAE Cargar or llevar

Or load a truck, however some people here in the US use it as "to carry" - chileno, May 20, 2014
