Hacen o Hace... which one is correct?

Do you say...
"Hola María, cómo estás? Hacen años que no te veo". "Hola María, cómo estás? Hace años que no te veo".

In these cases is always the singular form: Hace (when hace means ago or when it's used with time expressions) We only use "hacen" when it's "they do/they make", the third person,plural.

Hace because In time expressions, typically, hace is followed by a period of time to indicate how long ago something happened or started.
