Extra Español practice
I am a complete beginner. I am learning quickly and catching onto things quickly but I know it is one thing to read and write in Spanish, and another thing to speak and comprehend completely.
Where can I go, or what can I watch to start to understand the language? Anything would be helpful!
Por favor y gracias.

I was always baffled by TV shows when I started learning, it just goes by too fast.
It helped me to be personally involved with communicating instead of passively reading or listening. Really wanting to say something to someone, or wanting to know what they just said to you is a strong motivator to understand the language.
Problem is people dont usually communicate for the sake of learning a language except maybe in a classroom. So you have to do a lot of reading, studying and preparing for those opportunities to use the language when they come about.
One thing that a lot of people don't do or realize is that watching and listening to TV shows and movies helps regardless of how much you understand or don't understand. It may be frustrating or not very fun, but your brain is taking it in and recognizing patterns. I would recommend watching Disney & Pixar movies in particular... regardless of your level of spanish and do it throughout your learning process as an easy form of immersion. So basically, don't stress what you don't understand; because you're like a 2year old toddler taking in a world of words and forms of communication... it may take a while to learn, but because you've already learned one language(english) it'll be easier and faster to learn you're second.
There is no definitive method of learning it is entirely a personal preference,
and finding out which method best suits your way of learning .
Try downloading Spanish TV programs , radio and language sites which provide
vocal tests. Wherever possible try to converse in Spanish with a native Spanish
speaker .It is a hard long job but a very worthwhile one .Buena suerte amiga.
