Does this paragraph have correct Spanish grammar?
Okay, so I'm writing this paragraph for my final assessment so it's very important. I just need some people to double check the grammar, especially correct verb usage and conjugation. I know that the sentences are choppy and all, but I'm not looking for a smooth paragraph more than a paragraph that contains fluent Spanish. I posted this question before and was very grateful for the couple of answers I got and so I have edited this paragraph into my "pre-final draft" that I'd like to double-check again. So I think that it's "perfect" and has proper grammar since I just corrected a lot of it but I just want to make sure since this is avery important. So thank you so much if you answer my question, with or without corrections.
Hubo un incendio en un asilo de ancianos cerca del pueblo de Paillaco, Chile. Eran las ocho y veintitrés cuando el incendio empezó. Ocurrió el domingo, seis de abril del 2014. Había bomberos que vinieron desde Paillaco. Trataron de rescatar a las personas mayores. Había tres personas que pudieron escaparse. Había diez muertos, nueve adultos mayores y una mujer joven. El incendio estuvo activo por mucho tiempo. Los bomberos no pudieron apagar el incendio rápidamente. Algunas de las personas que escaparon son discapacitado ahora. El líder de la ciudad estaba triste. Él dijo que el pueblo necesita mejor infraestructura para impedir más accidentes. El accidente fue muy terrible pero las personas de Paillaco, Chile están trabajando a hacer la ciudad más segura.
