Hi Folks, As a Nigerian female,I thought it wise to post this thread. I had wanted to post it earlier but was still hoping the girls would be found before I post.

As you know, over 234 girls were abducted at night from their boarding school in Northern Nigeria over 3 weeks ago.How some raving lunatics have managed to pull this off, I will never know.Right now,I am as frustrated as I am confused.

Since this protest is all over social media,I think SD should not be left out.

Please share your thoughts, comments, prayers, suggestions or whatever.

Love,

Osas.

Lord Jesus Christ, we come before you now with concern for these girls who were taken from their school, their homes and their families. You know where they are and what they are going through. I ask that You would deliver them from the hands of evil men who have evil intentions. I pray that these men would be told that You love everyone so much that You sent your only Son to die for us because You want us to live with You forever, but we can only do that if we put our trust in You. And I pray that these men would put their trust in You and repent of their evil deeds and start living for You. It is not impossible because it has happened before, and no one is too far gone to come to You. I pray for the families of these girls that they would not be bitter, that You would fill them with Your peace, as only You can give. I pray that these girls would find hope and strength in You as they go through who knows what. Take care of them and protect them. We commit them to Your Sovereign care. Thank you that we can come before You with anything and You listen. Help us to remember that You answer in Your time, not ours. In Jesus' name we ask these things, amen.

I know that I am technically not supposed to do this, but I am doing this because it is not a normal situation.

Psalm 91.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest in the Shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “ He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge. His truth will be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by the day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my Refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him; I shall be with him in trouble; I will deliver and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my Salvation.” ~ Psalm 91 ~

El que habita al abrigo del Altísimo se acoge a la sombra del Todopoderoso. Yo le digo al Señor: «Tú eres mi refugio, mi fortaleza, el Dios en quien confío.»

Salmos 91:1-2 (my professor did this translation)

sorry about no Spanish (except the little at the end). I am not able to do it right now because of time, and at the moment it is beyond my capabilities.

Hi actorgirl...This is something that has always puzzled me. Please don't take offence, it's a legitimate question. Why didn't He step in and stop this before it happened? These girls are innocents. Why do you have to beg to Him to step in? Thank you. - 007c5fc1, May 8, 2014

Margerite, as a believer in Jesus for over 20 years, I would say that God gives all people free-will but ultimately holds them accountable for their actions! God has ordained or established authoritties on this planet such as governments and police . - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014
to protect people but some become corrupted by Greed and power and misuse their power and compromise with evil . I am not saying that this is what the Nigerian giovernment have done, we may later discover if that is true but they must take these threats - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014
seriously and act appropriately quickly! They need our prayers for God's wisdom to know what to do! - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014
Margerite, God could act independly but he respects our freewill and many citizens of coutries eg aetheists say they ddon't want God in their government . He won't force his way into people's lives but waits for them to ask him to act - FELIZ77, May 9, 2014
They do this through prayer ! However , he also uses agencies like the Police, justice and security forces tthrough which to frustrate the attempts of evil peeople! I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, May 9, 2014

God doesn't make bad things happen, I don't think, but man chooses to do bad things. It is not God's fault that this happened, it is man's, because like FELIZ said very well, we have free will. And a lot of people use their free will to do evil. I hope - actorgirl, May 9, 2014

Hola mi Hermana!

As you know I was very concerned when I heard the news.

The idea that women should be punished and be put into slavery because they want an education is abhorrent.

The evil men who are doing this fear women so much that this is their only recourse.

I pray that these young women will be free soon.

I'm not confused osas - I am very angry.

This is simply evil and the result of religious hate indoctrination.

the Islamic terror group Boko Haram is responsible.

The whole world has to stand up to it and wipe it out.

Today - I believe - 300 people were murdered in Nigeria by the same satanists.

Ian, we sincerely share your anger at these atrocities. These radical clerics are preaching hatred and indoctrinating people with their hatred and claiming that their God, alah is behind it, yet other muslim leaders (Imams) are denouncing the violence - - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014

Ian, many people in the world attempt to justify their questionable and evil actions by claiming that God told them to do it ..Jesus said (of prophets) You shall know (recognise) them by their fruit ! Just look at the results of these guys behaviour! - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014
Jesus also said: A bad man cannot bear good fruit neither can a good man bear bad fruit! - FELIZ77, May 8, 2014
You're correct Margherite, it's a god of someone, but not the God. It's a shame what these people did all in the name of a god instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. - rac1, May 9, 2014

hi osas - my feelings on the subject of Boko Haram and Abubakar Shekau. Both should be eraced/eradicated in the quickest, most inhumane way possible. I was going to say that people like him and his followers do not deserve to be on this earth, but since he is less than human, I can't use the word 'people' I detest it when these people are called dogs because they are nowhere near the level of dogs who are kind, willing and faithful. They can't even be called animals because that would elevate their status....I'm not even sure 'slugs' would work because slugs are useful creatures and quite helpful to man as are earthworms. I think the best I can do is 'scum', like the foam on a cesspool and the only way to get rid of that is to flush it.

We can call for change and sign petitions until we are blue in the face, but situations like this will keep happening until the evil doers are rooted out permanently. Blame the politicians of the world...they accomodate these scumbags because they want/need their votes. The problem occurs when these groups become too large and too extreme and then the politicians have no idea what to do with them...by that time, it's too late. Unfortunately, I believe it's too late right now. They have taken over and they are making their own rules. It's time to stand up and take our world back!!

Okay, I would normally claim to avoid anything political, but that is an ideal I stray from frequently enough that no one would believe it.

All that I can say is that men that are so insecure that they cannot handle the idea of educated women are not men that deserve respect. And a culture that instutionalizes those values is not one worthy of respect either. I am not sure it has been said, but the underlying issue is a bunch of men scared of educated women, and who are trying to prevent girls from becoming educated women.

I will not say much further, or I will become too rude to be allowed at this site. Suffice it to say that a man who is scared of women who are educated will get no respect from me.

I will admit I wrote the English first, and the Spanish as the same general comment afterword not as a direct translation- so it may not say exactly the same thing. Also, I am on vacation right now, so the Spanish probably is not perfect in grammar (not that mine is perfect in any case).

NO it most certainly is not. - ian-hill, May 8, 2014
Having read all the comments, I think I am saying essentially the same as JRaider. :) - bosquederoble, May 8, 2014
And yes, men trying to control women is not the sole aspect of the problem, but it is a part of leads to the specific efforts to intimidate the families of those who send their girls to school. - bosquederoble, May 8, 2014
Yes, I agree, it's part of the problem, but not the whole problem. Good discussion on this thread. :) - rac1, May 9, 2014
Even the meaning of Boko Haram tells me that this is not just a question of men fearing women. There are several debates raging about the 'exact' meaning, but they all point to the same thing...eradicate western education.... - 007c5fc1, May 9, 2014
...which in my mind is the beginning of the end of western civilization as we have known it. I just finished watching a news report about this very group, and even Al Queda fears them and is keeping their distance. That says it all. - 007c5fc1, May 9, 2014

Yes, Osas I believe you were right to post this!

This is an horrendous and totally unacceptable act of terrorism!

I have been praying about this issue individually and within my church. Infact we prayed about it this evening!

I have been praying that God will protect them am trusting God to keep these poor girls safe from harm!

We should also remember to pray for their families that God will comfort them in their distress and give them special grace to forgive these evil monsters, and that God will give wisdom and discernment to the authorities in Nigeria and around the world that the leaders will stand united and strong and not give in to the demands of terrorism so that girls will be able to continue going to school and to be educated!

Finally we should pray for the captors/kidnappers! God says in the Gospel of Luke that we should pray for our enemies and those who persecute us. We can pray that God will bring them under conviction of sin and bring them to know him personally so that they stop carrying out these evil schemes!

We need to remember that the real battle is not against people but against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places! Ephesians Ch 6 vs 6 -10 People have freewill . it's true but they can and also willingly choose to relinquish that free-will when they become involved in evil practices and they then act like puppets!

I made a comment in an earlier post , "the only thing that I can do"

It was not of course the only thing that I did , what I meant was that ,

the only things that I can do are those actions that in themselves

do not cause an escalation of aggression . I can only pray and hope

that all our efforts on behalf of these dear children result in their release.

What makes me angry is that this happened weeks ago and until recently there has barely been a peep about it in the western media. 7 years ago a British child went missing in Portugal (Madeline McCann) and it was on the front page of everything. I hate to cry racism but if this were 200 British or American girls would there be more outrage? Many prayers for these girls, and their families!

Annie these are fine words by Mrs Obama but

They will make absulutely no difference - hopefully the girls will be found but not by words - nor will these words bring back life to the 300 murdered soon after the abduction by the same thugs. These acts were committed in the name of religion.

I wish people would stop pussy footing around this now global problem,

There are acts of barbarity being commited DAILY in the name of Islam. I never hear DAILY condemantion from other Muslims.

NO God or fine words is going to stop this.

These barbarians only understand one language.

Don't blame me for stating the obvious but Islam is a DYSfunctional religion and responsible and only they can stop it. Their inaction is now affecting millions of us in their centuries old internal conflict.
