What is the difference between "arco iris" "arco de iris" and "arcoíris"

Hola,

According to RAE both are correct: arcoíris and arco iris.

arco.

(Del lat. arcus). ~ iris.

  1. m. Fenómeno óptico que presenta en forma de arco de bandas concéntricas los siete colores elementales, causado por la refracción o reflexión de la luz solar en el agua pulverizada, generalmente perceptible en la lluvia.

arco iris = incorrect ( a lot of people spell it like this though; a music group, stores, websites, etc.), or they forget to put the ' over the first "i" in arcoiris.

arco de iris = incorrect

arcoíris = Correct

Plural it would be = Los arcoíris
