"First" in Spanish
How do we use the word "FIRST" in a sentence in Spanish when not referring to numeric sequence?
For example, please translate the following sentence which is written in Capital Letters:
A boy comes into the house and sees that the lunch is ready. He is about to eat something when his mom intercepts him and says: "GO WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST"
Thanks for your help!

Hello Harron
Thank you! You have asked us/wriiten your request in a very considerate manner, with please and thank you, so I will help you and not just suggest that you use the translator machine.i
"GO WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST" (or go and wash Br Eng. This is how we would say it in England compared to USA)
<< ¡Primero, lávate las manos!,( *.for emphasis add...¡date prisa! / o ¡apúrate! (=do it!)>>
You need to use the imperative/command form here as I have done! I have written it using the tú from because this is an order you would give a child!
I don't think that the Spanish would translate the word 'go' literally in this context although they might add hurry up at the end for emphasis like the English use the word 'go' here!
Update: the Spanish use vamos, rápido, date prisa o corre, (run) to mean hurry along, now/get moving/go!
I hope this helps ![]()
