I've heard people say " quo como estas" which means hey how are you,I'm sure it's Colombian slang just not sure how to spell it. Is it cuo or quo ?

I think you mean quiubo.

You can read this: quiubo parecero

And it was discussed in the forum before:

quiubo

In Colombia they say Qué Hubo for a greeting, or Q'hubo for short.

Rodneyp gave you the mexican version which they say all of the time.

jphip,

Quiubo is not exclusive to Mexico. It is very much used in Colombia. It's highly regarded as a very Colombian saying , much like qué onda is considered very Mexican.

I lived in and out of Colombia for for 5 years and my wife is from Mexico.

You can say "que hay" also which is the present form.

It is like saying "what's up, what's happening"
