To pull through: sobrevivir. You have somehow got through an ordeal.

Example: He pulled through by the skin of his teeth.

To pull someone through: Example: I helped to pull my sister through after her divorce.

Tis means to help somebody to survive, get over something. Ayudar a alguien que tiene problemas emocionales para que él pueda sobrevivir.

Pull on this rope and help me get out of the bog! ¡Tira! Ayudame a salir del pantano!

To pull it through is physical, it can only refer to things , for example: The thread is to thick for the eye of this needle, I can't pull it through. This has no emotional context.

These expressions are phrasal verbs - they don't exisit in Spanish.

Few people expected him to pull through after the acccident.

Muy pocos esperaban que se recuperase después del accidente.

It was difficult but somehow we managed to pull through.

No fue fácil pero de alguna forma logramos salir adelante.

This is a common expression in English.

You look awful - you look like you were pulled through a hedge backwards.
