Build-a-Poem (for English learners)

votes

I am assuming that the rhyme lasts for 2 sentences, then it changes. Is that correct? - 00ffada9, Apr 23, 2014
yes, thank you. I was thinking about putting that in...it would be kind of weird if every line rhymed. :) - actorgirl, Apr 23, 2014

Last call for any more lines for the poem! I am working on putting it all together, and it is a little bit incomplete. If no one else posts, I will finish it, but I thought I would bring it up again one last time to see if anyone had anything else. I will post the poem tomorrow then, unless it picks up again.

Here is the poem all together. Thank you so much to those of you who contributed. You did an awesome job! I think I may try this again sometime. smile If you want, you are welcome to translate this to Spanish and post it. Thanks again!

The lavender fields were bathed in gold,

and it was truly a sight to behold.

The dew on the leaves sparkled like glass,

offering a sip to all that might pass,

and a heady perfume filled the air,

no place on Earth could compare.

A place of beauty, elegance and tranquility,

the peace felt here is beyond Man's ability:

The sun is shining through the mottled leaves

rippling light like the waves on open seas,

offering golden honey to faraway bees,

Forever saying, “I'm free, I'm free."
