Sylyon1976 will correct the Spanish sentences as her time permits. Please correct your posts according to her suggestions. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
>Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Examples:
1. Voy a ejercitar mi derecho como adulto de comer cuántas donas me den la gana.
I'm going to exercise my right as an adult to eat as many doughnuts as I want.
2. Debería haber estudiado derecho cuando tuve la oportunidad. Ahora gano casi nada como un asistente personal.
I should have studied law when I had the chance. Now I make barely anything as a personal assistant.

Una faceta muy difícil de los derechos es que ejercer algunos derechos sin restricción puede infringir los derechos de otros. Por ejemplo si alguien creyera que sus derechos de propiedad permiten quemar neumáticos en su jardín, es posible podría violar el derecho de su vecino de respirar aire limpio y no contaminado. Hay casos que no son tan obvios.

For example if someone were to believe that their property rights allow the burning of tires in their yard, it is possible that they could violate their neighbors right to breathe clean, uncontaminated air. There are cases that are not so obvious.
