Some countries use voseo! What are the rules for conjugating the verbs in all the tenses? And is vos a shorter way to say voseo?

The good thing about vos is that there are no irregularities will conjugating. For example:

Tener = to have (it is an e-ie stem changng verb).

Tú tienes

vos tenés

The command forms are pretty easy as well. You drop the "r" at the end of the infinitive verb and place and accent over the last vowel. For Example: ¡Mirá vos!

Vos is a personal pronoun, it is the second person in singular, and is equivalent to "tú".

The model verbs are:

Vos amás

Vos temés

Vos partís...

Imperative form:

Amá

Temé

Partí...

If you want to read examples of the "voseo" I recommend you the comic strip called Mafalda. She is a carachter created by the famous argentinian cartoonist called Quino.Mafalda

There's also one way more to use '' vos '' , consisting on simply shifting the 2nd person from plural in order to be used as if it were the 2nd person from singular, which in fact it's still on use in Spain ( not so common but you can hear it more than just occasionally, also on old movies, ads, books and newspapers from 20th century's first-half ).

Ejemplos:

Tu trabajas / Vos trabajais ( You work - Trabajar: To work )

Tu traias / Vos traiais ( You brought - Traer: To bring )

Tu alegrarás... / Vos alegraréis... ( You will gladden... - Alegrar: To ' make happy / bring happyness ', To ' make funny / funnier ', To ' glade in ' )

Tu camines hacia... / Vos camineis hacia... ( You may walk to.... - Caminar: To walk )

Tu ( te ) opondrías / Vos ( os ) opondríais ( ' You would be against... ' - Oponer: To pit, To ' move against ', To ' stand against ', To ' disagree ' )

And in the case for the compund tenses, it's as follows:

Tu has abstraído / Vos habéis abstraído ( You've abstracted... - Abstraer: To abstract / resume, To ' lose oneself ' )

Tu habías repuesto / Vos habíais respuesto ( You'd returned... - Reponer: To refund / return / repay )

Tu hubiste comenzado / Vos hubisteis comenzado ( You had begun - Comenzar: To begin )

Tu habrás alineado / Vos habrais alineado ( You will have aligned - Alinear: To line up, To align, To ' order lineally ' )

Well, that's the idea. ( Bueno, esa es la idea )

Regards.
