Let´s play

¿A qué quieren jugar?

Rules: You have to answer both in Spanish and in English what would you like to play. Example:

¿A qué jugamos?

A los encantados.

encantado, da.

(Del part. de encantar).

  1. m. pl.

Boys' game in which some chase (prosecute) to other that has to remain still or can remain free in a refuge

Note: "jugar" is intransitive, and you should use it with the preposition "a":

Jugar a los encantados.

In case you want to play a game that was or is played in your country it would be great if you describe briefly how it is played. If you like you can post an image too.

By the way, how do yo say "el juego de los encantados" in English.

(Please correct my English. Thanks!)

great idea! your English looks good, but the definition of the picture is confusing, and you wrote yo instead of you, but that was probably just a typing mistake. :) - actorgirl, Apr 21, 2014
"el juego de los encantados" In English I would say "The game that we loved ..... - gringojrf, Apr 21, 2014
Thank you, actorgirl! I don´t know how it is called this game. Does anybody know its name in English? - LuisCache, Apr 21, 2014
That game (in Australia) is called "tiggy", "catch" or "Sticky mud" - Flanno, Apr 22, 2014
I changed your category to "Games". :) - rac1, Apr 22, 2014

I know I'm being picky here, but I think it is "Simón". :) - Tosh, Apr 22, 2014

Hace muchos años me encantaba jugar a los bolos. Mis amigos y yo pertenecíamos a varias ligas.

Many years ago I loved to bowl. My friends and I belonged to several leagues.

Use ' afuera ' instead ' fuera ' and it'll be 100% correct, porcu. - jctv, Apr 21, 2014
;-) Good idea, I like to annoy the girls when they jump the rope! ;-) - LuisCache, Apr 21, 2014

In Australia we have a very popular game: Australian football. It is very fast and athletic. The ball is oval. There are eighteen players in the team. A feature of the game is the high jump to grab the ball. This is called a mark.

Looks great. Do the kids play it in the schooll yard too? Lo juegan los niños en la escuela? - LuisCache, Apr 22, 2014
- jennysk, Apr 22, 2014

<<¿A qué jugamos? >> = What shall we play?

Hoy en día muchos niños pequeños contestan = These days many young children answer

<< Vamos a jugar, 'pato, pato ganso' >> = "Let's play, "Duck, duck, Goose!"

Here is a link to show you how to play Duck, Duck Goose: enter link description here

I like that phrase: "What shall we play"! I wondered what words used the kids in English. - LuisCache, Apr 22, 2014
Luis I was simply translating the phrase you gave us: = What shall we play? - FELIZ77, Apr 22, 2014
Young children/infants at school in playtime (4 -7 year olds) are more likely to say: Let's play or I want to play etc.... : - FELIZ77, Apr 22, 2014

When I was a young boy (child) I used to love to play (I used to love playing)

= "What's the time, Mr Wolf? " (Possibly ¿'Qué hora tiene, señor lobo'? lit = What time do you make it, Mr Wolf?)

<<¿A qué jugamos?>> = What shall we play?

<< Vamos a jugar:¿'Qué hora es, señor lobo'? >> = "Let's play, What's the time Mr Wolf?"

I have included a link to a video which clearly shows and explains how to play this game: enter link description here

A mi gusto jugar con la nieve!

I love to play with the snow.

(I'd like to say it with skiing but too many verbs confused me)

Remember that "jugar" is intransitive. You should say: "jugar a las canicas". Saludos! - LuisCache, Apr 21, 2014
If you are talking about something you loved to do when you were young, I think it would be "me encantaba". :) - Tosh, Apr 21, 2014
