Pronouns and Verb Attachment
How do you know when to attach the pronoun to the verb? quiero "les doy" unas flores or quiero "darles" unas flores

Les quiero dar unas flores vs. Quiero darles unas flores.
Les quiero pedir un favor vs. Quiero perdirles un favor
Les quiero felicitar vs. Quiero felicitarles
Les quiero dar mil gracias vs. Quiero darles mil gracias.
Seems to me that the options on the left are more like an intent. You want to do it. Sometimes it is used in speeches like a politician talking to the people.
On the options on the righ are more like in the indicative tense, something you are doing right now. However, you can use them interchangeably. They all look good to me, and I would use a sentence like those above either way.
Pronouns can be attached when the verb is:
In the infinitive
In a positive command
In the "gerundio"
And no other times.
Now you have to learn how to determine which form the verb should be in.
In your case :
Quiero darles unas flores
would be the correct choice
Quiero les doy unas flores
is not correct Spanish
Because you follow a conjugated form of "querer" with an "infinitive" if the subject of both is the same.

When we have only a verb in the sentence the pronouns are always before verb except if the verb is in the infinitive or gerund form.
Compra las flores. Cómpralas. Voy al mercado para comprarte flores. (TE: indirect pronoun)
When we have two verbs we have 2 options: 1. Before conjugated verb: Quiero comer chocolate: Lo quiero comer 2. Attached to the infinitive or gerund verb Quiero comerlo.
Both are good and both are common, you can use the one you want but it's important you know both for understanding when somebody else uses it.
