a little mischief for a saturday night

I enjoy the lighter side of learning Spanish. In the course of reading and moving around the city and in my work as well, I hear and read things that bring a smile or a laugh.

Here are two that I felt were worth posting. I am not going to translate them- that is up to you grin

Bar scene:

Mi bebida se siente sola. ¿Te gustaría acompañarme con la tuya?

One day at work;

Post a similar experience or phrase to add a smile, or a little wisdom for all us that are learning. Please do post in Spanish and English.

Enjoy!

As always please advise if I have made errors or typos.

Grammar correction for gringojrf's ( http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/262085/a-little-mischief-for-a-saturday-night#a791044 ).

Regards.

Thanks. Your second correction is far more eloquent than my sentence. - gringojrf, Apr 13, 2014

Mi bebida se siente sola. ¿Te gustaría acompañarme con la tuya?

Quite the pickup line. Does your wife know you are hanging out in bars with a drink that is trying to pick up margaritas?

It is because it is after you need it that you actually gain the experience that you needed before.

Ok, my two cents:

  • Más incómodo que un hipopótamo en un ascensor: So uncomfortable as a hippo in an elevator... most of times used to refer very embarrassing situations = usada más que todo para referirse a situaciones muy incómodas.

  • Si el rio suena es porque piedras lleva: If the river crackles, there's too much stones on its streambed... that is, when you can detect and effectively track evidences related to any kind of suspicious situations, by any kind I mean the bad ones, good, weird and whatever = es decir, cuando se pueden detectar y rastrear eficazmente las evidencias relacionadas con cualquier tipo de situaciones sospechosas, y por cualquier tipo me refiero a las malas, las buenas, las raras, y las que sean.

  • Más plana que una puerta: Flatter than a door... referring to almost buttless - boobless, very skinny girls = para referirse para chicas muy delgadas sin casi senos ni cola.

Btw, no errors and typos.

Regards.
