Short translation excercise for Spanish learners

I was reading a lovely book of poetry by Jaime Torres Bodet and discovered this beautiful romantic poem.

The poem goes like this:

" No nos diremos nada, Cerraremos las puertas, deshojaremos rosas sobre el lecho vacío , y besaré en el hueco de sus manos abiertas, la dulzura del mundo, que se va, como un río."

As you look to translate this, think of the "color" of it and try to keep that.

Since you natives already know this please let us learners see what we can do with this first.

A vote for all who try the translation. Best answer for the best translation. I will post my translation at the end of the thread---- Enjoy !

As always please advise of any typos or errors you may see

¡Hola!, Paco:

Here is my attempt:

No nos diremos nada, We'll not say anything,
Cerraremos las puertas, We'll lock the doors,
Deshojaremos rosas sobre el lecho vacío, y We'll spread rose petals on the empty bed, and
Besaré en el hueco de sus manos abiertas, I'll kiss the palms of your open hands.
La dulzura del mundo, que se va, como un río. The sweetness of the world will flow over us like a river.

Hi Moe, Very nice! - pacofinkler, Apr 12, 2014
Nice, but I think yours and Pacos should join, you have the best start and he has the best finish. - annierats, Apr 13, 2014
Bien Hecho Moe!! - pacofinkler, Apr 13, 2014
¡Gracias!, por los commentarios y su soporte. Tuve dificultad con las frases, "que se va" y "como un rio." Ejercí mucho licencia poética en esa interpretación . - Moe, Apr 13, 2014
Very good, Moe :) - FELIZ77, Apr 13, 2014

We will not say anything. We will close the doors, and pluck roses on the empty bed, and kiss in the hollow of our open hands, the sweetness/ gentleness of the world, that flows like a river.

I tried to think in color, but I was having trouble with the word "deshojaremos".

Deshojaremos is not in it's verb form the verb is deshojar and it got transported into a gerund hope that helped. - Rozalyn01581, Apr 12, 2014
I thought is was "we plucked". Thank you. :) I tried. - Anrosia, Apr 12, 2014
De nada Amiga - Rozalyn01581, Apr 12, 2014
Personally i like spread or cast for that - pacofinkler, Apr 12, 2014
Roz I found the same problem and due to not being listed there is no clear translation into spread or cast ! Thank You Roz :) - FELIZ77, Apr 13, 2014

Here is my translation of the poem.

we do not speak, we close the doors, we cast rose petals opon the empty bed. And there I drink from the hollow of your open hands the sweet river of life that flows away like a river.

We wont speak, we'll close our doors, and I'll kiss your empty open arms, the world's sweetness that runs like a river.

Correction from Paco:

We wont speak, we'll close our doors, and I'll kiss your empty open hands, the world's sweetness that runs like a river.

No nos diremos nada, Cerraremos las puertas, deshojaremos rosas sobre el lecho vacío , y besaré en el hueco de sus manos abiertas, la dulzura del mundo, que se va, como un río.

Voy a tratar de traducir este texto:

"We will not say anything, we will lock the doors, eat roses out of hours on the empty bed and I will you kiss you in the palms (lit: hollows) of your open hands, allowing the sweetness of the world to flow like a river."

No tengo mucha experiencia en traducir canciones, películas y otras tipos de literatura idiomática. ¡He tratado de hacer lo puedo posible! (I have tried to do my best!)

Hi feliz you are very literal but its still good !! - pacofinkler, Apr 13, 2014
Paco, that;s due to lack of experience but the word deshojar was not in my Oxford Spanish dictionary as a verb only a noun and it is listed as meaning out of hours or eating during unsociable hours I had no way of knowing - FELIZ77, Apr 13, 2014
that it meant spead on a bed like Moe said. I find prose quite difficult to understand at times, even in my own language since it is flowery (embelisshed speech ) like Shakespear and not anything like the way we talk/ I tallk today ! - FELIZ77, Apr 13, 2014
corrections: embellished ... talk:) - FELIZ77, Apr 13, 2014
You did well felizz - you have the concept - pacofinkler, Apr 15, 2014

Thank you all for your interpretations of this poem. For me it is the heart of a romantic. Of course literary liscence is acceptable in poetry. Bien hecho a todos !!!!
